Creating Pollinator Habitat in Maynard

This talk features four area gardeners who explain Next Level garden planning for native plants and pollinators. The group explains in detail the hows and whys of creating a garden which will go beyond decorative flowers to create a community-wide ecosystem that can provide shelter, food, and resources for native bees, butterflies, moths, birds, and more. Did you know that many native bumblebee species in Eastern Massachusetts are endangered? Find out how you can help and where to buy plants with Lizza Smith's new Bee Club initiative. Partnering with existing projects like the Pollinator Meadow at ArtSpace and native perennial growers Bluestem Natives, Lizza and the group will help provide plants to every gardener in Maynard who wants them.

Presenters: Lisa Heffley, Jeweler, Yoga teacher, Meadow Manage at ArtSpace Maynard Laura Mattei, Director of Stewardship, Sudbury Valley Trustees Lizza Riley Smith, Realtor and Native Pollinator Task Force member Carolyn Wirth, Middlesex Conservation District
