We have been on Zoom for far too long! Join us on Thursday, October 5th at 5:45pm for the start of our speaker series and planning meeting. We will have pizza and salads. It will be held in the Trustees Room at the Maynard Public Library.

Our speaker this month is Kristen Kimmel from AquaTerra Designs. Kristen will be presenting on sustainable fall cleanup in your yard and garden. For the birds? Why, yes, actually it is! As gardeners, we have probably all heard the phrase ‘Leave the Leaves!’. While a seemingly simple thing to do, it is a more complex issue for suburban gardeners. This talk will explore the many facets of a sustainable fall cleanup and how it helps to create and maintain a resilient, balanced and diverse ecosystem in our landscape, and some of the many challenges we may encounter.

Kristen is a lifelong conservationist and native New Englander. She earned her BS in Wildlife Management from the University of New Hampshire, and later earned her Certificate in Landscape Design from the Landscape Institute at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and the Boston Architectural College. She is the founder, owner and designer of Maynard based AquaTerra Designs, an ecological fine gardening and design company, now in its 18th year.
